Glass Bubbles
An additive of hollow glass microspheres
Glass Bubbles is a powder of hollow glass microspheres made by 3M Japan Limited.The hollow glass microsphere additive achieves increased functionality in terms of decreased weight, enhanced heat insulation, heat shielding, and heat resistance performance, etc., while maintaining the characteristics of the resin.In addition, the spherical shape has superior filling power compared to conventional fillers.
It has a much higher filling rate in resins compared to other fillers that are generally incomplete and mottled, and is able to promote decreased density.As a result, the amount of resin needed is reduced, increasing the proportion of the entire volume occupied by the Glass Bubbles, enabling a great reduction in density as a composite material, and achieving the most effective high-functional weight reduction.
